President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov said he is ready to resign if a number of conditions are met, reports the press-service of the Kyrgyzstan leader.
“The political situation in the country has reached a critical point. To resolve this situation, we must take the following steps. The results of the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh have been canceled. New Parliamentary elections must be scheduled. The decision on this matter will be taken by the CEC. These measures will reduce the current political tensions,” he said.
In his words, it is necessary to dismiss the prime minister and members of the government who worked before the crisis, which will create a legal basis for new appointments.
“In order to legitimize the appointment of a new prime minister and members of the government, a resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh and a presidential decree are needed. I am ready to sign the corresponding decrees, I am waiting for the resolutions of the Jogorku Kenesh. In order for parliamentarians to fulfill their duties, law enforcement agencies must ensure the safety of deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh,” he added.
He pointed out that he is going to legitimize the ongoing personnel changes, as well as the fact that for him “no position is higher than the integrity of the state, the unity of people and peace of the community.”
